Magliette realizzate durante il workshop tenuto al BIAD Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, Birmingham City University dal 30 aprile al 2 maggio 2014.
Il workshop si inseriva in un progetto più generale sulla conoscenza delle nuove forme di rappresentazione visiva legate alla manualità e alla materia ed era finalizzato alla creazione di magliette personalizzate, attraverso l’uso di strumenti e materiali di uso quotidiano.
La t-shirt è diventata in tale contesto un’occasione per raccontare la vita di tutti i giorni attraverso l’utilizzo di tecniche, convenzionali e non, legate sia a linguaggi espressivi molto diversi tra loro sia all’uso combinato di maschere e matrici come principale metodo di stampa.
Il programma è stato diviso in quattro parti in modo tale da creare un percorso didattico funzionale alla realizzazione delle magliette:
– Prima parte: Introduzione teorica all’approccio e al metodo di stampa
– Seconda parte: Introduzione pratica all’uso degli strumenti e dei materiali di base
– Terza parte: Definizione idee e creazione prime t-shirt con strumenti e materiali di base
– Quarta parte: Definizione idee e creazione libera di t-shirt con strumenti e materiali a scelta
Il risultato finale è questa ricca e bellissima serie di magliette.

The T-shirts created during the workshop at BIAD Birmingham Institute of Art & Design, Birmingham City University from April 30 to May 2, 2014.
The workshop was part of a wider project regarding the knowledge of new ways for visual representation, linked to manual work and materials. It was aimed at the creation of customized t-shirts by instruments and materials used in everyday life.
In this context, t-shirts became an opportunity to speak about everyday life by using techniques, which may be conventional and non, linked to both the expression of different visual languages and to the combined use of masks and stamps as the primary method of printing.
The programme was divided into four parts, each aimed to provide a didactic path functional to the making of t-shirts:
– First part: Theoretical introduction: instruments, techniques and goals
– Second part: Practical introduction to the use of the principal instruments and materials
– Third part: Concept definition and the making of early T-shirts by using principal instruments and materials
– Fourth part: Concept definition and the making of T-shirts by using a personal choice of instruments and materials
This rich and beautiful set of t-shirts is the final result.
